Seaview is a quaint, seasonal, residential community located in the heart of Fire Island between the Village of Ocean Beach and Ocean Bay Park. While Seaview is one of the few strictly residential communities of Fire Island, the market, liquor store, and nursery are available to visitors. Visitors are free to check out a number of beaches, restaurants, and bars available in the other public communities of Fire Island, like Ocean Bay Park.
Seaview families have the luxury of going to the Seaview Bay Beach. This beach is open to its residents from June until mid-September. The Seaview Bay Beach has lifeguards on duty and offers a number of family-friendly community events throughout the summer! From swimming lessons for all ages to group fitness in the water, Seaview Beach has an activity for you! In the past, Seaview has even hosted kid-friendly activities like pizza parties, face painting activities, and scavenger hunts!
While canine companions of residents are welcome at the Seaside Bay Beach, they must remain on their leashes between the hours of 10:00 am to 5:00 pm (additionally, all pups must remain on their leashes on all other walkways and Seaview owned properties. Seaview and other communities throughout Fire Island abide by very strict laws in order to keep their communities safe and clean!).
Other public areas of Fire Island have seasonal restrictions for dogs in order to protect threatened and endangered wildlife. While leashed dogs are generally welcome, ocean beaches prohibit all pets from mid-March through Labor Day. *However, be on the lookout for some public bay area beaches, as some do permit dogs during these months.*
Remember, it is important to be kind to our neighbors! Be mindful of other community residents, and be sure to clean up after your pup!
