With over 5 miles of rolling white sand, this beach is the cliche of beaches with surfs big enough for surfing enthusiasts to enjoy, popular scuba diving terrain, and great fishing areas. For access to the beach, many use tunnels under the dunes at the park; however, dogs must be taken past the campground to the wooden stairs that go over those dunes.
You can bring friends and family along with your dog for a day trip or to stay a while at one of the 75+ campsites designated for campers and trailers. The following are other amenities that will enhance your visit:
This is a dog-friendly beach, but all dogs must be on a six-foot leash at all times. You are limited to two dogs per person or two dogs per campsite if staying overnight. Unless your dog is a service animal, areas not-permitted for its presence are the following:
Also, dogs cannot go into areas closed off for wildlife protection. This is for the safety of all animals.
This beach has a lot of perks for you and your furry friend. Be sure to check-in before planning a trip to ensure no closures are prevalent due to excess animals, weather, or other unforeseen occurrences. Even if your dog is friendly, please be mindful of those around you who may have a fear or dislike towards dogs.
To ensure that the beach can continue to be dog friendly, please properly dispose of your animal's waste. Also, keep in mind that sand can be hot and stressful for your canine companion. Be sure to plan accordingly with shade and plenty of water.
