Description

There's definitely no shortage of beaches on Long Island's south fork, and the good news is that a lot of them welcome dogs. Two Mile Hollow Beach, found in East Hampton Village close to leafy streets and imposing mansions, is one of the best.

For much of the year, your furry friend is allowed to roam this beautiful, sandy beach off-leash. However, like so many other beaches in this part of the world, restrictions apply during the warmer months. From the second Sunday in May until the end of September, dogs aren't allowed on Two Mile Hollow Beach between 9 am and 6 pm. Outside of these hours, they're welcome on the beach but must be leashed when within 300 feet of any road end.

With that out of the way, let's take a closer look at the positives. Two Mile Hollow Beach might only be a couple of miles from the heart of East Hampton Village, but it's such a quiet, unspoilt stretch of sand that you can often feel like you're a long way from anywhere. If you're looking for a long and relaxing walk with your dog away from the bustling crowds, this is the place to do it.

The sand is soft, the beach is wide, and water-loving dogs will have a whale of time frolicking in the shallows. If you just want to sit in the sand and take in the ocean vistas, there's plenty of room to do that as well. Restrooms are available if needed, plus bags are provided to help you clean up after your pooch.

Finally, if visiting during the warmer months, make sure you have a valid beach parking permit to avoid getting ticketed. But if you've got all the paperwork sorted out, you're ready to simply relax and unwind by the sea with your four-legged friend.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
