Wilson - Tuscarora State Park Beach

Wilson-Tuscarora State Park is a natural area that is home to a variety of wildlife and plants. The entire park measures 476.5 acres and features numerous landscapes ranging from mature forests to marshlands to open meadows.

Along with a beautiful shoreline filled with swimming areas, the park also features a four-mile hiking trail that is ideal for hiking in the warmer months and cross-country skiing or snowshoeing in the colder months. You can experience the beautiful foliage and get both you and your dog some great exercise while enjoying the fresh air.

While dogs cannot enter the water in public swimming areas, there are portions of the shoreline that are not designated for swimming, so you can usually let your dog take a dip in the water in specific areas of the park.

Fishing and hunting are also popular in the park, creating a safe destination for hunters and fisherman alike. Dogs are welcome to take a plunge into the water to retrieve any fallen waterfowl in the hunting areas.

There are multiple locations that are ideal for picnics, so you and your family can enjoy a wonderful meal while appreciating the breathtaking scenery. Pavillions are available for rent if you would like to secure a location, or you can just stop by and select a public picnic table for some fun in the sun.

Wilson-Tuscarora State Park also has playgrounds, giving you a place to let your children run around and burn off any excess energy.
