Austin East KOA

Planning a getaway with Max in the Lone Star State? The Austin East KOA is one of the best dog-friendly campgrounds in Austin, with plenty of activities to keep pet parents and their puppers entertained while on the open road. 

All dog breeds are welcome at the Austin East KOA, and pups are allowed on tent and RV sites. Keep your dog on a 6-foot leash at all times. Pet policies differ from KOA to KOA, so check with the campground before attending. 

RV sites throughout camp are well-equipped, with many providing full hookups that support 20, 30, and 50 amp electricity, as well as pull-through access. Pets can't go into the swimming pool area, playground, or the KOA buildings. 

The best feature for Fido at the Austin East KOA is the large 0.5-acre dog park, where your pupper can stretch their legs and learn some new tricks. There are lots of trees dotted throughout the camp, and many campsite patios have awnings so your woofer can stay cool.

Pet parents will also find tons of fun activities around Austin East KOA. During the summer, campers can cool off in the camp swimming pool or just top up their tan poolside. There's also a playground for kids and classic campground games like horseshoes. Watch out for seasonal events, too, including chili cook-offs and live music.  

Ready to venture outside camp? You’ll find lots of additional dog parks near Austin East KOA. You can take your pooch for a lakeside stroll at Walter E. Long Metropolitan Park, located just across the road from the KOA, as long as they stay on a leash. You’re also just 10 miles from downtown Austin, in case you want to check out some local attractions or enjoy an alfresco meal with your pup by your side.
