Description

The Brown Tract Pond Campground is a secluded campground situated by the 146-acre Brown Tract Pond, two miles away from Raquette Lake, New York. The hidden gem is the perfect place for primitive camping and a furrific destination for anyone who wants to experience the great Adirondacks in their full, natural glory with just the bare essentials. The tent and RV campground is dog-friendly, which means you will be able to share the outdoor adventure with your four-legged family members as well.

The campground sits on the east shore of the pond, surrounded by towering pines that cast tons of shade. Since the campground is heavily wooded, you and your travel companions will have plenty of privacy to enjoy the waterside views and surrounding greenery. There are a total of 90 sites that accommodate both tent and RV camping, although trailers should not exceed 32 feet. The sites are $18 per night or $23 if you are an out-of-state resident. Picnic tables and campfire rings are scattered throughout the campground, and there is a trailer dump station available on-site. Although there are no heated showers, flush toilets are available.

Spend your days canoeing or fishing for bass out on the Brown Tract Pond (if you have a fishing license!) or explore the wilderness with your canine best friend. Hike the Black Bear Mountain or take one of the many paths that loop around Bug, Eagle, or Eighth Lakes. You will find marked trails by Shallow Lake and West Mountain, as well as several strategically placed benches along the way if you need a rest. Lots of the trails are bike- and horse-friendly, but visitors can also enjoy seaplane rides or some of the nearby commercial attractions, such as the Adirondack Museum and local golf courses.

At Brown Tract Pond Campground, you and your four-pawed pal are just a bone's throw away from endless adventures in the great outdoors!
