Description

If you enjoy a relaxed mode of camping where the vision is family fun, set a course for Brunswick Family Campground, where you can pitch a tent or park up your RV overlooking the breezy, Potomac River, with views of Short Hill Mountain.

There’s nothing quite like camping by the water as the sound offers a soothing ambiance and chases the stresses of life away. The setting at this Maryland park is picture-perfect, with green, grassy areas and beautiful trees for shade. Kids are in for the best of times with a classy playground and the opportunity to go tubing, fishing, or kayaking on the river.

Partial hookups to electricity (30/50 amp) and water are available for RV’s with a dump station at the park. Tent and RV sites feature a picnic table and fire ring either by the river or closer to the camps. Roads are loose gravel and trains pass by often at the back of the park.

There’s no access to cable TV, and wi-fi connectivity is limited, but instead, you can enjoy a wonderland of nature with activities for every age. The classic horseshoes, volleyball, and basketball are family favorites, with a camp store offering basic supplies and ice cream for the kids.

Updated restrooms and showers get a big tick for cleanliness, while a covered pavilion allows groups and clubs to put on special events. New rustic-style cabins offer a pristine accommodation next to the woods.

The park is dog-friendly, so there’s no need to leave fur-babies behind. The pet rules ask all owners to keep their pooches on a leash and pick up their waste. Good behavior is also required, and with 11 acres of blissful parkland to explore, you can bet nature walks are a holiday highlight.

Brunswick Family Campground is tucked away between a river and canal where, once upon a time, mules pulled boats on a tow-way. Today, the appeal is extreme outdoor fun.  Ride a rental bike along the C & O Canal Towpath, or take a 10-minute drive to Brunswick and explore a city steeped in Civil War history. Be inspired by the majestic Queen Anne and Gothic architecture while enjoying the stores, museums, and family-friendly eateries.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
