Description

Buck Pond Campground is located right on the west shores of Buck Pond, a 130-acre water oasis found in Vermontville, New York. The water is divided into sections and Lake Kushaqua and the Kushaqua Narrows are accessible from the campgrounds. The campsite offers visitors 112 spacious and secluded sites to choose from, accommodating both tents and RVs up to 30 feet in size.

Dogs are permitted to accompany their owners while camping, but owners are asked to bring proof of rabies inoculation in the form of either a tag or certificate dated for the current year. Dogs are required to remain on a leash and/or confined (e.g. by using a tie-off anchored to the ground) while on their campsite and while exploring the grounds.

When walking your pup, use a leash six feet in length or shorter and keep in mind some areas of the campground are off limits to pooches including the beach, picnic areas, or inside any buildings. Any signs of aggressive dogs or uncontrollable barking will result in the pup being asked to leave the grounds. Don’t forget to bring poop bags to clean up and dispose of any waste your pet makes.

Fortunately, there are lots of ways for you to spend your time with your pooch including taking a long walk along the designated trail that follows an abandoned railroad bed. Outdoor recreational activities can be found on the campground including access to boating, biking, fishing, and swimming.

There is a boat ramp conveniently located on the Lake Kushaqua water access for guests to use, as well as canoe, kayak, and rowboat rentals. Fishing is popular on the lake because of the variety of species found in the water including brown bullhead, yellow perch, rainbow trout, black bass, and more. If you're not up for hitting the waters on a boat, check out the sand beaches you have access to for swimming. A bathhouse with hot showers and flushing toilets is available and will make your camping experience more comfortable.

When searching for a perfect camping getaway location in the state of New York, remember Buck Pond Campground has all the amenities you and your pooch need!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
