Description

You might feel you’ve landed in paradise when you check in to Colonia del Rey RV Park, located in a popular part of Texas where a 10-minute drive sees you sunbathing on the beach.

This is a reliable vacation or stopover park where friendly staff greet you and help connect the RV to electricity (30/50 amp), water, and sewer. Sites are cozy with level concrete pads and either gravel or grass between you and the next motorhome. A picnic table is provided and there is enough room for a fire grill, with propane for sale at the park. Tropical palms and native trees offer a certain amount of shade. Sites come with cable TV and the internet so you can keep in touch with friends while you are away. Daily rates are between $40 and $48. RV storage is also available.

There are a few permanent residents enjoying the amicable ambiance and snow birders escaping the winter blues. A nearby road features minimal noise while the camp swimming pool offers a cool reprieve when the Texas sun sparkles in a cloudless sky.

You’ll feel incredibly spoiled at the festive gatherings with card games, dancing, and special breakfasts. The kids have a playground to enjoy, and the park is run by a motivated couple who have been managing it for twenty or so years.

Colonia del Rey knows RVers like to travel with their pets and has created a fenced dog park for pooches to run free off-leash. Litter bags are part of the service, and owners are asked to pick up their pet's waste. Once they leave the dog run, it's on-leash time, with no entry to any of the buildings or pool. Chows, Pit bulls, Dobermans and Rottweilers will not be allowed to enter the camp. If you are unsure about their breed restrictions, call the pet-friendly staff or contact them through the website.

Colonia del Rey is an invitation to live a little with guests who enjoy the RVer's way of life. You can stay a night, week, or settle down for good. Busy months are summer and any time there is something happening in Corpus Christi.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
