Delta Lake State Park

A clean and pleasant park in Oneida County, New York, Delta Lake State Park is a lovely spot for a family camping getaway. The most pleasing part of all is that the most important member of the family is welcome to join you, with pets permitted in the park's scenic campground.

Delta Lake State Park covers 720 acres and sits on a peninsula that reaches out from the southeastern shore of Delta Lake. As you'd expect, water-based activities are the main attraction in the park, making it particularly popular during the summer months. A boat launch is provided for those looking to get out on the reservoir, but keen anglers can also fish straight from the shoreline for trout, pike, bass, bullhead, and perch. There's also a sandy beach where swimmers can make a splash and cool off during warmer weather.

This flat, wooded park also boasts miles of hiking and nature trails, several picnic areas, and cross-country skiing and ice fishing for winter visitors.

When you're ready to set up camp for the night, 101 tent, trailer, or RV camping sites are available. The sites have been designed with families in mind and come with a six-foot table and a fire ring. A $7 vehicle entrance fee applies, while campsites range from $15 to $33 per night, with an additional charge of $5 per night for visitors from out of state.

Pets are permitted in the campground, provided you abide by all park rules and regulations. These include keeping your pet caged or on a leash of six feet or shorter, as well as ensuring that your pooch is kept out of the bathing area. Finally, you'll also have to take responsibility for disposing of your dog's waste.
