Description

Situated high in the Rocky Mountains in north-west Montana, Emery Bay Campground is a beautifully secluded location, offering you scenic views of the surrounding mountains. The campground is inside of the Flathead National Forest and sits at an elevation of 3,600 feet. It's the perfect base-location for visiting the nearby attractions including the Continental Divide and Glacier National Park. This pet-friendly campground is found along the shores of the Hungry Horse Reservoir, providing its visitors with unlimited water access.

In total there are 26 campsites all located on top of a bluff looking out onto Emery Bay. The sites accommodate both tents and RVs. If you're looking to camp with a larger party, one group site is also available and it can accommodate up to 75 people- making it perfect for family reunions!

Campsites come equipped with fire rings that have grills and a picnic table for you to use at your convenience. Fires are permitted at the campground but visitors must purchase firewood from the facility. No outside firewood is permitted.

Vault toilets and drinking water (4 stations) are accessible for all campers as well. During your stay, feel free to check in with the attendant who can answer any questions you have about the campground or area.

While at Emery Bay, check out the variety of outdoor activities including fishing, boating (with an accessible concrete boat ramp), swimming, wildlife watching, and much more. There are a variety of trails you can explore on bike or by foot while on the lookout for wildlife.

The campground is in what is known as "grizzly bear country" as bears are known frequent the area often. As a result, many of the campsites come with food storage containers, and storing all food, including dog food and canned food, is required. This is to prevent unnecessary contact with the bears. You are asked to take the proper precautions in storing food and garbage in locked containers so the bears remain unprovoked.

If you're ever looking for a scenic camping experience in the Rocky Mountains, Emery Bay is the place for you!
