Description

Evangola State Park encompasses 733 acres of countryside in southern Erie County, New York. Its main drawcard is a beautiful, arc-shaped shoreline and golden, sandy beach on the shores of Lake Erie. But not only is this park great for humans to visit, dogs are more than welcome as well.

Dogs are welcome to camp with you on the majority of the park's 77 campsites, but there are a few sites where pets aren't welcome, so check this closely when making a booking. One cabin and six yurts are also available in the campground but don't permit pets.

The highlight for most visitors to Evangola State Park is the easy access it provides to the refreshing waters of Lake Erie. If you like swimming, sunbathing, fishing, or just being on or near the water, you'll love your stay here. The wide, sandy beach is a popular spot during the summer months, and is backed by low cliffs of Angola shale.

Of course, there's plenty more to see and do in the park than just spend all your time on the beach. The nature center in the campground area is well worth exploring, while picnic facilities are provided throughout the park if you're looking for a scenic lunch spot. For those keen to raise a sweat, baseball and soccer fields feature alongside tennis and basketball courts, while there's even a disc golf course for some family fun.

If you're visiting Evangola State Park with your pet, it's worth familiarizing yourself with the park rules and regulations regarding pets before you arrive. These include restraining your dog on a leash of six feet or shorter, ensuring that your pet is well-behaved, and cleaning up after your furry friend whenever required.

They're all simple tasks that any responsible dog owner will have no trouble handling, and the little bit of effort required is a small price to pay to enjoy this lovely pet-friendly campground.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
