Forks Campground, located in Bass Lake, California, is about 25 miles from Yosemite National Park. If you're looking for somewhere to enjoy getting away from the everyday rat race, look no further! Forks has several campsites designed for both tent and RV camping.Â
No matter which campsite you choose, you're sure to have a picnic table, a spot for a campfire, and a grill. There are a couple of restroom facilities located within the campground, but these facilities only have sinks and toilets. If you're looking to take a shower, you'll have to head about a mile from the campground to where the showers are located.
Also a mile or so away is access to Bass Lake! The beautiful lake is within walking distance of the campground, and many campers have boasted about how beautiful it is. What's better than going for a swim on a hot summer day? Many campers also enjoy taking out a boat or jet-ski. If that's not your thing, maybe you'd rather go fishing. We hear there's almost always catfish biting -- no dogfish, though!
Your furry friends are welcome to join you while you're camping, but there are a couple of rules. Only two dogs are allowed per campsite, and this rule is enforced. Your pooch will need to be on a leash at all times, which is really for their own good; the campsites are near the campground's roads. Make sure you remember to clean up after your dog. You'll want to have some waste bags on hand; none are provided by the park.
You'll want to know that, recently, many trees were cut down within the campground. While this was done to prevent wildfires, it also means there's a lack of shade in many campsites. Fresh drinking water is provided by the park, so make sure to take advantage of it!
Forks Campground is a beautiful campground that really allows you to experience the beauty of nature. What are you and your pup waiting for?
