In the area, the landscape is rugged and diverse. The Little Missouri River, The Nothern Great Planes, and lots of unique flora and fauna give campers and visitors a ton to explore. Around the actual campsite, you will find it is surrounded by large cottonwood trees that turn the most stunning shades of golden yellow in the fall. The campground sits in a moderately-sized forest, so you will have some shade to relax in or set up camp. However, most of the campsites are in partial to full sun.
In the area, the most popular activities include hiking one of the many nearby trails, birding, viewing wildlife, and fishing in one of the nearby bodies of water.
You will also have access to flushing toilets, fresh drinking water, and picnic tables throughout the site. You are able to camp in tents, trailers, and RVs. Campers have a dump station on site that they can use, fire rings, trash collection, picnic tables, a comfort station, ranger station, and a designated parking area.
Dogs and some other pets are allowed at the campground, but they need to wear their leash at all times. Dogs are not permitted to be left unattended at any time. Always make sure your pooch has water to drink and a cool place to sleep and relax so they do not overheat.
Overall, Juniper Campground is a quiet place to camp with no major roads nearby or modern day disturbances. With its natural beauty and diverse landscape, there is something for everyone to love at Juniper!
