Murvaul Campground and RV Park, nestled right along the shores of Murvaul Lake, welcomes both you and your pooch to explore the Texas outdoors in style. Not only does this campground come with an abundance of amenities and activities aimed to enhance your visit, but Murvaul Lake also has opportunities for your beloved four-legged companion.
Dogs are welcome at this campground, though there are unfortunately restrictions on breed. Breeds considered aggressive, including Pit Bulls, are not permitted in the park. If you have questions regarding your pup's eligibility, just give the park a quick call ahead of time to prevent any issues upon arrival.
You can't beat the rates at Murvaul Lake, as primitive tent camping begins at only $5 per night. If you'd like water and electric services, it's only a little more at $15. RV sites are available as well, which come will full hookups for $20 per night. Cabins are only $50 a night and welcome all guests, including those with four paws! If you do plan to stay in a cabin with your pooch, there's a fee of $50 that's non-refundable. This fee is to cover costs for cleaning to prevent issues with allergies for future guests staying in the cabins. No pet fees apply for tent or vehicle camping.
While staying in the campground, do remember that you're expected to clean up after your dog immediately. Leaving pup waste for later pick-up can result in other campers having a "ruff" experience! Facility restrictions for your pooch include public gathering spaces and the swimming area. You’re free to explore other aspects of the lake with your pup that are not designated for swimming. This is the perfect opportunity for you to partake in a soothing walk around the scenic lake at your own leisure.
During your stay, bask in the amenities you find at the campground. With just under 4,000 acres of water for you and your pooch to explore, anything is possible on the lake. Boat, swim, fish, or relax by the water. For anglers, there are three fishing piers for you to cast your line from and a fish cleaning station for prepping your catch. The swimming area at the lake is maintained – this is the area your pup isn’t allowed to venture in. Feel free to enter the water at other points on the lake with your pooch, but be mindful that it is not maintained like the swim area.
