During the off-season, or from November 20th to March 1st, there are a number of scheduled activities at the campgrounds in Mathis, Texas. Common activities are wild hog roasts and fish fries.

Dogs are allowed in the campgrounds. Dogs are required to be on leashes when outdoors. All dogs must be kept under control to prevent accidents and injuries to themselves and other guests of the campgrounds. It is unclear whether dogs are allowed in the cabins or cottage, but they can be in the tent and RV areas. Dogs may or may not be allowed in certain parts of Lake Corpus Christi, which surrounds part of the campgrounds, so be sure to check for signs. There is a dog walk area in the park for dogs to get a little exercise.
