For those looking to stay near the most famous waterfalls in the country, Niagara Falls Campground and Lodging has everyone beat when it comes to proximity. Camp right beside all of the area's hotspots with your pooch by your side at this at this facility, conveniently located 6 miles away from the American side of the falls.
There are 84 sites at this location, most accommodating RVs of varying sizes and offering full hookup options. A few tent campsites are available as well as rooms for lodging; however, pooches are not allowed on these smaller lots or inside of any buildings. Sites start at $42 and go up according to size and features. The grounds are very clean, though the property is a bit outdated. You'll have access to washing machines and dryers on-site, which cost between $2 and $3 per load.Â
While you'll likely be heading out to get close to the incredible natural wonder just down the road, there are some fun things to do inside of the campground as well. Take a dip in the pool or let the kids monkey around on the playground on those days that you just don't feel like trekking around the city. There is a tour center on the property to make tourist outings a breeze, along with a gift shop for grabbing souvenirs of your journey.
Furry campers are allowed here, although there are restrictions on breeds, so definitely call ahead to ensure that your pooch is permitted on the premises. Puppers can stretch their legs in the dog walking area at the front of the facility. Management asks that you keep your woofer on-leash at all times and be sure to promptly pick up your dog's waste or else you could be fined up to $100! Note that dogs are not allowed in rooms or tent sites.
If hotels aren't your thing and you'd like to camp minutes from the American Falls, Niagara Falls Campground and Lodging is worth checking out.
