In the area, you will have direct access to a swimming hole that is at the end of the campground and is part of the river. Hiking and hunting are favorite activities in the area as well, so if you bring your dog make sure they wear their leash and stay close to you at all times.Â
At the actual campground, there are amenities you can take advantage of to may your stay a bit more comfortable. Campfire rings, fresh drinking water, tables, tent sites, trailheads right from the campground, trash collection, vault toilets, and a water spigot are all there. However, there are no showers available at this location. Although you are allowed to make a fire, there are restrictions imposed. If the weather is too hot or dry, you may not be allowed to build a fire and fire must only ever be built within a fire ring.Â
Dogs are welcome at the campground, but they should wear their leash at all times. You must make sure your pup has fresh water and a cool and comfortable place to sleep and relax so they do not get sick or overheat. Poop bags are not provided at the campsite, so make sure you bring poop bags so you can clean up after your dog and keep the grounds sanitary.Â
Overall, North Fork Campgrounds sits in a quiet and remote location that is great for getting away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. You and your dog are sure to love your time together here!Â
