Oakwood RV Resort, located in Fredericksburg, Texas, is a spot you and Fido should definitely add to your campground bucket list. The resort has 132 sites that start at $37 a night; we know it'll be tough for you and your pup to pick the pawfect one, but we recommend getting one located close to the many amenities offered.
Some spots are close to the pool and hot tub, so if you're the type that likes to relax, maybe request one of those. If you want to spend your camping trip being active and moving around, maybe select one that's closer to the shuffleboard court and the putting green.
If you're camping out with your canine companion, though, you might want to grab a site located next to the on-site, fenced-in dog park! It's a great place to allow your pup to get some off-leash exercise, which we're sure they'll appreciate since they have to be on a leash in the rest of the resort. It'll also allow your dog the chance to make some pawesome new friends with other dogs camping out. As always, you're expected to clean up after your dog; don't ruin someone else's day by leaving a mess behind!
One complaint many campers share is that the park's WiFi signal is weak. You can avoid this by requesting a spot closer to the antenna. Staff will accommodate you if at all possible.
There's one more great way to have fun with FiFi while camping at Oakwood RV Resort. There are many vineyards located near Fredericksburg, and one located in Stonewall, which is about 15 miles away, is dog-friendly! Grab your pup, their leash, and go sample some great wines and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Whether you choose to stay at the campground or venture off a bit, Oakwood RV Resort is sure to please you and your pooch!
