Situated outside Bloomingdale, IN, Peaceful Waters Campground is a relatively new location for camping and outdoor recreation. Its desirable location provides easy access to Turkey Run State Park, Rockville Golf Course and historic Rockville, IN, sites.Â
The campground provides both electric and primitive campsites, approximately 50 in total, alongside a selection of cabins. Shower and restroom facilities are on-site. Campsites range from semi-shaded to non-shaded and can be close to or a bit away from the on-site pond. Each site is spacious so that you don’t feel too cramped during your stay. Do note that there are only two campsites with full electric and water hook-up. Each site is outfitted with a picnic table and fire pit with a grill gate. Free WiFi is available. The owners are very involved with the care and maintenance of the campground, and will likely greet you personally and offer to assist in any way you might need during your stay (including delivery of firewood!).Â
Cabins require a two-night minimum stay and no pets are allowed in the cabins. Holiday stays require a three nights’ reservation.
Activities at the campground include fishing (no license required on the campground’s four-acre pond and you can even take your catch back to your campground to cook over the fire), volleyball, horseshoes, bocce ball, cornhole, basketball, paddle boating, and canoeing. You can also rent a floating dock that is outfitted with a grill and trolling motor. However, absolutely no swimming is allowed. Some sheltered picnic tables are located near the pond and a walking trail circles the campground.
The campground has its own trading post, where the campground owner (and artist) offers unique and handmade gifts, including animal hide wall hangings and fur hats, mittens, and other items created from deer, elk, moose, and buffalo.Â
Dogs are welcome for no additional fee, but be sure to clean up after your pet as you would during any outing and bring your own supplies for doing so.Â
