The Point Comfort Campground in Piseco, New York is a great starting point for an outdoor adventure you can enjoy with your whole family. It sits at more than 1,600 feet elevation with the backdrop of Piseco Lake, and the campground has dozens of sites to choose from. There are RV and tent sites for campers, and sites are surrounded by dense trees for shade and lots of privacy.Â
No camping trip is complete without your dog by your side, which is why Point Comfort welcomes furry guests, too! Just be sure to bring along proof of your dog's rabies vaccinations. Your pooch must always be on a leash no longer than six feet, and you're not permitted to leave them alone at your campsite. Dogs aren't allowed in any indoor areas around the campground, and some of the day use areas, like the beach, also aren't dog-friendly.Â
Some RV sites can accommodate vehicles up to 30 feet, and there are also wheelchair accessible sites. There are picnic tables around the campground, as well as campfire areas that guests must use if they want to have a fire. You'll find vault toilets positioned around the campground, and unlike many places, there's even a bathhouse where campers can scrub-a-dub!Â
Right near the campground, there's a boat launch and ramp so you can enjoy the waters of Piseco Lake. The lake is used for fishing, canoeing, kayaking, jet skiing, or just taking a dip! You can rent boats within ten miles of the campground, and there are also convenience stores, gas stations, and restaurants nearby. You'll also find golf courses and several hiking trails, including the 133-mile Northville-Lake Placid Trail minutes from the campground.
Guests are permitted to stay for up to 14 days in a row at Point Comfort Campground, and up to six guests can stay at each site. Rates begin at only $20 per night, and you can book your stay at this furrific campground as soon as two days before you visit, or up to nine months in advance.
