Description

Eastern California’s Inyo National Forest houses many great campgrounds, and Rock Creek Lake Group Campground is one of its crown jewels. This campground is set beside its namesake Rock Creek Lake and has a beautiful view not only of the lake, but of the surrounding woodlands and mountains as well. It is a place where you can clear your mind and enjoy nature and the fresh mountain air — a fantastic destination for your next group camping trip. The campground is pet-friendly, so you can bring your dog along too!

Rock Creek Lake Campground has both group and single sites. The group section of the campground is located next to the main campground, and it is comprised of one large site. The nightly fee for the group campground is $75, and it can accommodate up to 25 campers at once. There are a number of useful amenities on the premises, including picnic tables, fire rings, bear-proof storage lockers, flush toilets, and tap water. The surrounding pine forest provides ample shade.

The campground is a great spot to hang out with your group and relax, but you might want to explore some of the fun outdoor activities in the surrounding area. The nearby lake is a well-regarded trout fishing destination that has rainbow, Alpers, brook, and brown trout. There are also numerous trails in the area, so hikers can rest assured they’ll have plenty of room to explore. The Tamarack Trail is a popular choice that conveniently connects to the campground.

When you are preparing for your stay at Rock Creek Lake Group Campground, remember that it is a walk-in, tent-only facility — RVs and other vehicles are not allowed on the premises. Dogs must be kept on their leashes at all times, and there is no trash removal service provided. Finally, please be aware that you are in bear country, and take appropriate precautions concerning food storage and disposal.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
