Upstate New York's Southwoods RV Resort is a pawesome campground that you have to add to your list of places to visit. It's located in Byron, which is just outside of Buffalo. You can go camping in your own RV, of course, but the grounds also have a few units for rent if this is something new for you. With rates starting at only $34 per night, you won't believe all that the resort has to offer.
If you like being active, take advantage of the volleyball court, pools, or the hiking trails. While those amenities are pretty standard at most RV resorts, Southwoods has something most others don't: a mini-golf course! If you prefer more leisurely activities, there are also live shows a couple of times a month, and campers frequently gather to play a game or two of bingo. For your convenience, there's also a laundry facility and a general store located on-site.
What would camping be without your canine companion? Southwoods RV Resort does allow your dog to come with you. The resort allows each site to have a maximum of two dogs at one time. Typical campground rules apply. Fido must stay on their leash at all times, and you're responsible for cleaning up after them; that includes any messes made at your individual campsite. While there are no breed restrictions listed on the resort's website, they do reserve the right to turn away any dog deemed aggressive. You'll also need to bring proof of rabies vaccination with you to present at check-in.
There's one more thing you might want to keep in mind: This RV resort is located near a train track, and some campers have complained about being woken up by the train's whistling. You might want to bring some earplugs to use at night.
If you're up north and looking for somewhere new to go camping, make sure you visit Southwoods RV Resort!
