Description

Found in northwestern Texas, Westcliff Park is a lakeside campground that hosts guests roughly nine months out of the year.  While canine-friendly, there's not much offered in the way of walking trails, which means it might sometimes be a challenge to locate bathroom spots for Fido. Visitors here are treated to a free swimming beach and children's playground, as well as a slew of summer-centric activities.

Overnight guests to Westcliff have their pick of the litter, with an abundance of options as far as campsites go. A total of 31 different sites are open for reservation, all of which contain the most commonly seen amenities like a campfire ring and picnic table. If you're going for a bit more of a civilized experience, electric sites are offered for a few extra dollars per evening. Westcliff also offers dump station access, so guests with RVs or pop-up campers shouldn't have a problem. If you're staying with canines, there are a couple of rules to follow. Make sure Fido sleeps with you in your tent or camper, as well as keeping them clear of any public structures like restrooms or showers.

The immediately adjacent Belton Lake provides some great opportunities for fishing, with species like largemouth bass and catfish being seen in its waters. Anglers should pack all necessary rods and equipment if they're looking to stay close to camp, as the shoreline here doesn't contain rental services or fishing shops. Make sure to obtain a fishing license from the Texas Parks and Wildlife website if you're determined to try and catch dinner during your stay. Canines are welcome to accompany anglers on the shore, provided they're on a sturdy leash around six feet in length.

Boating is another activity offered in Westcliff, with a deluxe two-lane boat ramp provided free to overnight guests. The waters are open to any watercraft, both powered and unpowered. Just like fishing, riding your boat on Belton Lake requires a license, so make sure you've got an up-to-date copy. As there are no regulations regarding canines on boats, you're free to keep Fido along as your co-pilot, provided you keep them on restraint and out of the water.

Any prices seen here reflect amenities found inside of Westcliff Park. Additional fees may be collected for surrounding activities.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
