The Alice Frost Kennedy Dog Park is a public dog park located at the Vina Vieja Park in Pasadena, California. In addition to the dog park, the seven-acre Vina Vieja Park is home to a playground for kids, public restrooms, some picnic areas, and several sports fields.
The popular Alice Frost Kennedy Dog Park has a very well-thought-out layout that is made up of three securely fenced and double-gated off-leash areas. The first area accommodates small dog breeds; it is equipped with several obstacles for dogs to hop on, hop over, or slide through.
The other two areas are meant for large dogs and provide tons of space for pooches to run, explore, and play with their four-legged friends. Unlike in many other dog parks, the small dog area isn’t much smaller than either of the large dog areas and thus provides plenty of room to roam for the smaller canines too.
All three areas at the Alice Frost Kennedy Dog Park are equipped with a few benches and seating areas, including a shaded canopy area in each section. They are also equipped with paved pathways and drinking fountains for both dogs and owners to use to stay hydrated.
The Alice Frost Kennedy Dog Park has lush, mature trees growing throughout the grassy off-leash sections that provide you with plenty of shade for you and your dog to cool off in. However, since the park’s surface is a combination of ungroomed grass and dirt, it can make picking up after your dog more tricky.
The lack of grass at the Alice Frost Kennedy Dog Park can be a drawback sometimes. Playtime can get muddy, especially if it rains. You should make sure to pack a towel for your furball’s paws to avoid a messy car on the ride back home.
You do not have to worry about parking spots here since there are plenty of them located along the entire length of the park. There are also picnic areas located across from the off-leash areas which are very convenient in case you decide to stay all day at this park and need a place to snack while still keeping your pooch in sight.
