For a barking good time in Napa, bring your furry BFF to the Alston Park Off-Leash Dog Area! Located in the southern portion of picturesque Alston Park, this designated leash-free area is a pawpular hangout for the city's four-legged residents and visitors—and it's not hard to see why!
With ruffly 30 acres allocated to canine park goers, there's plenty of room for pups of all shapes and sizes to socialize and romp unfettered. Even big and high-energy doggos will tucker themselves out from running and sniffing around this expansive site. Enjoy the furrific scenery as you and Fido take a stroll on the meandering trails. If your pooch goes to the bathroom, waste bag dispensers and garbage bins are located along the way for easy cleanups. After your hike, grab a picnic table to relax and refuel with a snack.
If your pup is still working on their recall, the off-leash dog area also includes a 3-acre fenced dog run known as the Canine Commons. Here, you and Fido will find two separate areas for large and small pooches that contain water sources, mutt mitt dispensers, trash cans, and benches for the humans. Both sections have a woodchip surface to keep dust and mud at bay. Visitors report that foxtails are present in the Commons during spring and summer, though, so check your pooch thoroughly when they're done playing!
Beyond the designated off-leash area, your furry pal is welcome to tag along as you explore the rest of the 157-acre Alston Park. Keep in mind that once Fido sets paw north of the off-leash signs, they must stay on a 6-foot leash at all times. Don't forget to stoop and scoop as well!
Get some exercise in and enjoy a beautiful day out with your canine companion at the Alston Park Off-Leash Dog Area!
