The dog enclosures are lined with artificial grass to provide greater traction, reduce injury, and prevent dogs from becoming excessively dirty. Visitors to this dog play space laud its pristine cleanliness and attention to detail. The property itself is marked by gently rising hills, pools with fresh water suitable for swimming, and water fountains to help keep Fido well-hydrated during his visit to the park. Also on-site are picnic tables with added umbrellas to provide shade for owners relaxing while watching their dogs at play. Bathrooms are also available on-site for member use. Complimentary poop bags are provided via dispensers installed in various areas of the park. Owners are asked to assist park officials in keeping the park clean by picking up and properly disposing of all canine waste materials.
Entrance to the Sue and Dick Levy Dog Park is membership-based. The process of becoming a member is multi-pronged. Interested parties must first attend a four hour Dog Park Etiquette seminar. The cost for the seminar is $40. Once the seminar has been successfully completed, owners can then submit an application form along with proof of all required vaccinations. The Humane Society of Silicon Valley mandates the following vaccinations to be current: Rabies, DA2PP, Bordatella, and H3N2. In the case of Canine Influenza Virus, a strict protocol is observed. Dogs must receive the initial shot, then be boostered, and have completed a one week waiting period prior to park admittance.
In addition to this, all dogs using the facilities must be spayed or neutered. Once approved, owners are required to pay a $150 membership fee which permits access for one dog. Families with multiple dogs may purchase a family pass at the pro-rated price of $200. The park restricts a family pass to no more than two dogs. Park officials also require that all dogs attending the park be no younger than six months of age. Membership dues afford members benefits including discounts at the Medical Clinic as well as Whole Pets. There are also additional savings to be redeemed for training and grooming services at Animal Community Center. For a great time at a great park, bring Fido to Sue and Dick Levy Dog Park!
