The beautiful Ann D. L’Heureux Memorial Dog Park is located near Larwin Park in Carlsbad situated about a one-half mile east of El Camino Real. This fantastic dog park is 13,200 square feet and is fenced-in for safety. It has fragrant smelling eucalyptus trees that you can rest under while your dog plays and runs around.
There are benches located throughout the park, and the large trees provide plenty of shade on hot weather days. The park offers a dog drinking fountain to help keep dogs hydrated while they enjoy the park. You can also bring along a dog water bowl and fill it up at the fountain if needed.
Dogs need to remain on their leash until they fully enter the designated fenced-in dog park area. Once you are located inside with the gate closed, you can remove the leash and allow your dog to run free. There is also a trail connection to Hidden Canyon Park which requires all dogs to remain on a leash while exploring the trail.
The perimeter of the Ann D. L’Heureux Memorial Dog Park has a picturesque view that helps dog owners relax in peace while their dog enjoys roaming around the park and socializing with other dogs. It also has its own parking lot located nearby, so you do not have to worry about finding a parking spot.
There are receptacles for cleanup that provides plastic bag dispensers. You should always bring along poop bags just in case the dispensers run out. Cleaning up dog feces is a mandatory park rule that helps keep the area clean and healthy for all dogs that visit the park.
The location is perfect and prevents dog owners from having to walk through other areas where dogs are not welcome. Overall, this beautiful dog park is an excellent spot to play fetch with your dog and enjoy natural surroundings. All dogs that visit this dog park need a San Diego dog license.
