Berry Street Dog Park in Lemon Grove is what everyone in the community is barking about. The off-leash dog area sits in the southeast corner of Berry Street Park. This gem welcomes the whole family and is where many like to gather for events like concerts and birthday parties. This medium sized park sits on a sloping hill and has a paved path along the perimeter, pawfect for strollers or going for a jog with your pup. You’ll find picnic tables, a playground, scenic gazebos, and big shady trees. But while the park has something in it for everyone in the family, your furry pal might be eager to get you to the off-leash dog area. 

When you arrive at the Mount Vernon Street entrance, you’ll find a large, paved parking lot making parking a breeze. There is also street parking if the lot happens to be full on a gorgeous Saturday in the summer. From there you can head south along the paved pathway, past the restrooms, and through the children’s playground. Just a little further and you’ll reach the fenced-in dog areas. 

Your pal needs to be leashed throughout the park, until they’re within the enclosed areas designated for doggos complete with separate large and small dog enclosures surfaced in mostly grass and some dirt patches. On a rainy day you might need to give your pup a bath after playtime. If you forgot Fido’s favorite ball, no worries, there are extra balls and ropes laying around. There are even small obstacles for you to try out your pup’s agility! In the large dog enclosure, there is a faucet to refill the gigantic dog bowl for exhausted thirsty dogs. 

While your pup burns off some energy, you can sit back and relax in the shaded sitting area. Don’t forget to always keep an eye on your pal and clean up after them with the clean-up bags provided.
