Blair Park Off Leash Dog Area

At 8.2 acres, Blair Park Off-Leash Dog Area is the largest public park in Piedmont, California. It is situated along Moraga Avenue between Red Rock Road and Maxwelton Road at the head of Moraga Canyon. Located in a residential area, Blair Park faces homes on hilltops and apartment buildings directly behind. 

The unlandscaped, wide-open grassy area boasts the perfect amount of fledgling trees in a mostly flat surface great for playing fetch and frisbee. Because the park is naturally peaceful, it is a nice spot to host dog meetups and organize small events. Drivers in the area may find the park to be a stop along the way for their 4-legged passenger to get out and stretch his legs for a quick hike.

Blair Park may even be perfect for senior dogs who prefer to stick nearby. The flat area also makes it easy on the legs for longer walks. Since there is little foot traffic with lots of shade, it provides a quiet and restful oasis for them. Blair Park does not have fencing so be sure to keep the pups on a leash if he’s a runner. The winding Moraga Avenue wraps along the park making it just feet away from speeding cars. 

Walk across the street to Coaches Field where groups can play baseball, softball, and kickball. Park goers also come here to use the bathroom, take time to rest on one of the benches or hang out at the skatepark. A water fountain is available at the Blair Park Off-Leash Dog Area for a quick bowl refill. 

If your pooch is ready to walk a little further, continue your journey about a mile west down Moraga and through some residential streets. This 19-minute walk will take you to Dracena Park. While Dracena Park may be the destination, enjoy the scenic neighborhood walk along the way.

Dogs are permitted off leash at Blair Park, and park goers are advised to be aware of limited parking. Poop bags are not provided so be prepared to be mindful of other visitors. Overall, Blair Park is a great neighborhood dog park for locals in the area.
