The Bonnie Wenk Dog Park is a cool canine hangout that's loved by four- and two-legged locals alike! Located within the 26-acre Bonnie Wenk Park, this off-leash dog run comprises 2 acres of fenced-in space where McKinney's furry residents and visitors can romp freely and meet other puppers!
The Bonnie Wenk Dog Park offers two separate areas for large and small doggos. While little dogs may enter the large dog area, big dogs are not allowed to go inside the small dog area. If your pooch weighs less than 25 pounds, it is recommended that they play in the small dog area. In addition to ample open space for running around, the site features a splash pad where the hounds can cool off during hot Texas summers—just remember to bring a towel for drying your pup off. The area is also well-shaded, and there are plenty of spots for you and your fellow dog parents to sit while you keep an eye on your charges. Doggie waste bags, trash cans, and drinking water are provided for everyone's convenience.
If your pup doesn't feel like socializing, take them for a walk on the paved loop in the dog park, which spans 0.44 miles. For a longer stroll, continue outside the off-leash area and on to the 0.43-mile path that goes around the main park's 5-acre pond. Well-lit and open until late, the Bonnie Wenk Dog Park accommodates both early birds and night owls, so you can still treat Fido to some off-leash fun on days when you have to put in some overtime at work. Make sure your pooch is current on their vaccinations and has their tags displayed before you drop by.
When it comes to off-leash exercise and play, your best friend will surely have a furrific time at the Bonnie Wenk Dog Park!
