Is your four-legged BFF getting antsy from staying indoors all day? Then let them run off all that pent-up doggie energy at the Burroughs Dog Park! With 6 acres to romp, roam, and ruffhouse sans leash, this pawsome canine hangout is sure to become one of your pupper's favorite spots in the city. It's also a great place to meet new furry friends—pawfect for pooches who are looking to expand their social circle!
The dog park sits in the west-central portion of the pawpular 320-acre Burroughs Park and can be a little hard to find for first-time visitors. Drive past the athletic fields and lake until you see the parking lot specifically for the dog park. Once you and Fido hop out of the car, you will find a forested facility split into two separate areas for large and small pups. Both sections are secured by a chain-link fence and double-gated entry and offer plenty of room for canine citizens to stretch their legs and blow off steam.
The park also contains benches and walking trails, allowing dog parents to relax or get some exercise in while their furry charges sprint and dash around the area. Be sure to keep an eye on your pooch at all times and remind them to mind their manners if necessary so that everyone has a pawsitive experience. Water fountains and mutt mitt dispensers are provided for your convenience as well—remember to stoop and scoop whatever Fido puts down!
Visitors say that the area can sometimes be muddy, so always have a towel ready in the car in case you need it. Furtunately, wash stations are available on-site for cleaning off dirty doggos. If your pup still has leftover energy after playing in the dog park, take them for a leashed stroll in the adjacent nature trail area.
For a doggone good time in Tomball, you can't go wrong with the Burroughs Dog Park!
