Description

The Burton Creek State Park enjoys a picturesque location in the state of California near Lake Tahoe. If you and your pup love hiking, this park on either side of Burton Creek is going to become your next favorite place. Besides the wide variety of shrubs and conifers, there are also opportunities for bird and wildlife spotting.

What makes this place charming is the fact that some parts of it are still undiscovered. Part of why this happened is because there is no prominent signage to guide people as they're hiking. As a result, the Burton Creek State Park promises a serene hiking experience along the six miles of unpaved road that crosses the woods.

This place is also ideal for mountain biking, and skiing in the winter. Breathtaking scenic vistas guarantee you'll have a fantastic experience.

The Burton Creek State Park offers a fantastic opportunity for your dog to enjoy nature as well, however, there are a few ground rules your pup will have to obey. All dogs in the state park must stay leashed at all times. In addition, dogs are only allowed to walk on roads, which includes fire roads, and with six miles of unpaved track, you'll have more than enough to traverse. Be sure to stay off the trails. Lastly, always have clean-up bags on hand, and stoop and scoop whenever necessary. Also bring drinking water to share with your adventure pup. When packing for a trip to the Burton Creek State Park, remember to put a map in your backpack too, as well as to note the numbers posted at road junctions to help you navigate.

If you're looking to get back to nature with your pup, check out the pawrifically undeveloped Burton Creek State Park!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.

We went snowshoeing in February. Snow was firm but not icy. Took the gate to the left because looked like the elevation gain was a bit more gradual. Want to try it as a hike once the snow melts.
