Butano State Park

Butano State Park welcomes dogs as long as they are on a leash. You can bring your dog to the campground areas and paved areas located throughout the park. However, dogs are not allowed on hiking trails. You must also keep your dog in your tent at night or in a vehicle that is safe and provides fresh air. Vaccination, license and identification tags need to be displayed on your dog’s collar at all times when visiting the park. 

You must be with your dog at all times and keep them on a leash that measures up to six feet or less. Only take your dog to the areas of the park that are dog-friendly and make sure you avoid the hiking trails. This beautiful park is a great escape from busy city life. You can enjoy a great adventure with your dog or just relax among the redwood trees and babbling creeks. 

Pet owners are compelled to clean up after their dog. You need to carry plastic dog waste bags with you at all times to assure you clean up your dog's mess immediately. You need to also pack necessities for your dog if you go camping. Everyday camping items for dogs include food, water, medication, first-aid kit, bowls, toys, bedding and anything else your dog needs. Camping is exciting, and your dog only makes it better. 

Once you set up camp find an area that you can tie your dog’s leash to that still allows your dog to be close by so you have your hands free. You can take your dog for a walk, just not on the hiking trails. Avoid unleashing your dog and allowing them to run free. They can get lost or hurt. Overall, the Butano State Park is an excellent state park to visit with your dog. You can choose to visit for a day or longer, either way, you will have a great time with your dog.
