Canine Station (or University Dog Park)

The Canine Station (or University Dog Park) is located within University Park in College Station, Texas. It is situated in a busy area off of University Drive East and East 29th Street. Once in the park, dogs and humans alike are treated to the serene landscape of nature. The dog park is about four acres, providing enough room for pooches to play with or without their friends. 

The area is fenced in and has two separate spaces for large and small dogs. Once in the Canine Station, there are a couple of small ponds for dogs to swim in. The ponds are relatively shallow making it safe for swimming. The rest of the area is complete with trees and mostly dirt with spots of grass. On days that are dry, the soil kicks up a lot of dust. 

However, the dogs enjoy it, bring a pair of sunglasses to protect your eyes. With that in mind, on days where it has rained, the dirt turns into mud, also making it fun for dogs. The helpful thing about having tuckered out pups covered in mud is the washing station located in the park. It provides a chance to wash them off before heading back into the car. 

Near the washing station is a water fountain as well so you will never be unprepared. An agility course also resides on one side of the Canine Station for those that are more athletic. Just outside of the dog park area is a nearby playground, running track, and picnic area. Dogs are allowed within the rest of the park as long as they are kept on a leash. 

Please be aware of aggressive dogs visiting the park and be sure to make sure your pup is comfortable with others before removing the leash. Standard rules apply to four-legged friends visiting the Canine Station. Canines need to be older than four months, and females in heat are not permitted. All canines must wear registration and vaccination tags at all times. The Canine Station is a fun place for pups and humans.
