Canyon Hills Dog Park

The Canyon Hills Dog Park is one of four off-leash dog parks in the city of Lake Elsinore, California. The dog park is located in the Canyon Hills Community Park which is popular with residents for its children's playground and picnic tables. Cars can be parked in the lot and dogs should be walked on a leash to the designated off-leash zone. 

This dog park in Lake Elsinore has a wide paved entrance which is great for those pet parents who are mobility challenged. The paving extends inside the off-leash areas to form patios with pavilions where pet owners can sit or shelter. Both the small and large dog enclosures, which are fenced with eight-foot-high chain-link, are surfaced with a combination of dirt, rough grass, and bark chippings. 

There's not a lot more on offer for the pups than the basic compound, but they're all more than happy with what the park authorities blessed them with. Pet parents should remember that a visit to the dog park should be a pleasurable experience for all dogs, but it can often take some time for a dog to become accustomed to a dog park environment. 

Going from being a king or queen in their house to being in a social pack atmosphere can be unnerving for them. Starting with short visits helps to give them time to get used to being with other canines they've never met before and is something which shouldn't be rushed. If a pup seems ill at ease or shows signs of becoming aggressive, that's the moment to cut the dog park visit short and wait for another day before trying again. 

Dog parks are places where a beloved furbaby is going to come into contact with lots of other dogs. Small puppies are not prepared for that either physically or mentally. When they've reached five to six months, finished their shots and have confidence in their pet parents is the right moment to try the dog park for the first time.
