Description

Residents and neighbors of the Benton Park West neighborhood show their pups love at the Cherokee Dog Park! Also known as the Benton Park West Dog Park, this fenced in space on the corner of Utah Street and Nebraska Avenue gives area pups a place to ditch the leash and romp free!

One of many small neighborhood dog parks within St. Louis, Cherokee Dog Park is located in the heart of a residential area, making it a great spot to walk to for many residents. With one space for all sizes of dogs to play together, the park offers a lot of amenities for you and your furry bestie to enjoy. You can relax on a bench while your pup plays, with plenty of shade from several large trees. A drinking fountain caters to both people and dogs, and kiddie pools give pooches a pawsome way to cool down in hot temperatures. Your dog will love sniffing the trees and exploring the terrain of dirt and grass.

Like most dog parks in the city, this is a members-only park, but carries the least expensive price tag in St. Louis! A yearly membership is $35, and you can add on additional dogs in your household for only $15 each. A coded double-gated entry ensures only members can access. To be a member, your dog should be spayed or neutered, over 4 months old, and be current on their vaccinations, including for distemper, bordetella and rabies. They should also sport an ID tag on their collars while playing in the park. With a maximum of only 13 dogs at any given time allowed in the park, this small space is ideal for dogs new to dog parks to get used to socializing.

Be sure to always have clean-up bags on hand to promptly pick up after your dog and keep the park clean for all. Keep an eye out for fun events hosted by the park, such as an Easter egg hunt and Howl-o-ween parties!

For a furbulous day out your dog will love, take them for a visit to the Cherokee Dog Park!
