Description

Clear Lake State Park is nestled in the midst of wine country in Kelseyville, California. This beautiful recreational area is home to California's largest freshwater lake which has also been rated America's #1 hotspot for bass fishing. Clear Lake State Park welcomes dogs to join their owners on their lovely property; however, dogs aren't permitted on the beach or in the on-site cabins.

Additionally, dogs must remain leashed at all times. Clear Lake State Park does not offer a designated play area for dogs to enjoy. With this in mind, no on-site amenities have been provided for their use. Owners should bring water with them to ensure Fido has access to a drink when needed. Poop bags are not supplied; however, since all owners must clean up after their pets, they should come prepared with some bags from home to assist with this task.

Bathrooms featuring showers with hot water are available on the premises for public use. Clear Lake State Park is a public facility, and access to the grounds is provided to all people and their pooches at no cost. However, there is a fee to reserve a campsite or one of the on-premise cabins. The area is replete with many wonderful recreational opportunities for families to enjoy.

These include hiking, swimming, fishing, boating, and waterskiing. For those who enjoy a vigorous hike, Clear Lake State Park offers several trails for Fido and his family to enjoy. The Indian Nature Trail consists of 1/2 mile of land which runs through a former Pomo village site. The Dorn Trail, which is traversed with a guide, is comprised of 2.5 acres of property and prominently features some of the area's most distinctive natural resources.

Birdwatchers will not want to miss the Kelsey Creek Trail which offers rare glimpses of waterfowl indigenous to the Kelsey Slough. This beautiful recreational area carefully observes and enforces all California state law. To this end, dogs are required to be up to date on immunizations and in possession of a city dog license tag. For a great time at a stunning California retreat, why not bring Fido and the family to Clear Lake State Park?

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
