Cody Kelly Bark Park (at Plaza Park)

Cody Kelly Bark Park is a public dog park located at the Plaza Park in Visalia, California. In addition to the dog park, the Plaza Park features playgrounds, tennis courts, sports fields, a golf course and a race track. It is also home to a duck pond, picnic areas, and public restrooms. The park is set in a beautiful location, surrounded by mature trees and lush greenery, that creates a relaxing environment to spend a day in. 

Whether you are barbequing with your family, watching the kids play in the open play areas, or simply taking your canine companion for a scenic walk, every family member will find something to do here. The dog park is securely fenced with an eight-foot fence and made up of two separate areas for dogs to enjoy without a leash. 

There is a small dog run for dogs under 25 pounds and a large dog area for those above. Both areas provide plenty of room for canines to roam and play. The off-leash sections are grassy so depending on the weather playtime can get dusty or muddy. There are mature trees growing inside the off-leash areas so finding shade to cool off in isn’t a problem. 

There are no water fountains in the small dog run, so owners must remember to bring their own or use the drinking fountain found in the large dog area to make sure the smaller furballs remain hydrated during their visit. On the plus side, the Cody Kelly Bark Park is equipped with benches and plastic chairs for owners to relax on and there are plenty of toys scattered throughout the park for dogs to play with. 

Free waste bag dispensers and conveniently located trash cans are available too and help keep this well-maintained park poop-free. Since the dog park is well-lit, dog owners can bring their dogs for off-leash exercise even after dusk which is great for people with non-standard schedules or those who prefer to avoid the occasional afternoon crowds. Plus, parking is spacious, and the dog park is easily accessible which makes it a popular choice for dog owners living in the nearby areas.
