Coleman Square Dog Park (at Coleman Oval Park)

Coleman Square Dog Park is a fenced-in area inside Coleman Playground where you can bring your dog to run and play. It’s an excellent place to bring your dog on a daily or weekly basis. The park is conveniently located for neighborhood residents to reach easily and quickly. Pet parents are encouraged to keep their dog on a leash until reaching the designated dog area then remove the leash once you are located inside the dog park. 

The open space allows your dog to run around with other dogs and socialize. Bring along a ball or toy to play fetch and make the visit to the park more entertaining. It’s always wise to bring along fresh water and a portable dog bowl to help prevent your dog from getting dehydrated. 

The park rules and New York State law requires dog owners to keep their dog’s vaccinations up to date. The rabies vaccination is mandatory. All dogs that visit this park need to have proof of vaccinations and a current dog license. There are trash cans located nearby the dog park, but you need to bring poop bags to clean up after your dog. Always clean up after your dog immediately to prevent other dogs from coming into contact with feces. 

The park has wild animals such as birds and squirrels and you need to stop your dog from chasing and catching the animals that live wild in the area. Dogs are not allowed near or in any other area of the park. They are only permitted on the pathway that leads to the dog park and the designated dog area of course.

Overall, this dog park is a spacious area for dogs to run and play. All dogs in the area are welcome as long as they have a license and current vaccinations. Playing fetch with your dog and allowing him to run around the fenced-in area will provide him with plenty of exercise.
