Description
Costa Mesa, California is located between Los Angeles and San Diego. It is a new town, having been incorporated in 1953. In the 65 years since it was incorporated, Costa Mesa has gone from a sleepy farm community of barely 16,000 to a thriving city of over 100,000 people. Much of the growth has been due to the excellent location of the city, which is perfectly situated to be a bedroom community of both the greater Los Angeles area and San Diego.

If there is one thing that southern Californians have in common, it is a love of being outside. And given the wonderful weather that the area usually has, it is no wonder. In Costa Mesa, for instance, you can find nearly 30 parks. One of the biggest, at over 49 acres, is Tewinkle Park, which has everything you might expect in a park and then some.

There are tennis courts and play fields, picnic facilities, and duck ponds. There is also an artificial waterway, complete with rapids and mini-waterfalls. In addition to all of this, there's a dog park. The Costa Mesa Bark Park at Tewinkle Park is over two acres, with a separate section for small dogs under thirty pounds. Elderly dogs and dogs with disabilities can use the small dog section, too. Both sections of the dog park have benches and poop bags as well as water fountains year round.

The Costa Mesa Bark Park is well-maintained by the city of Costa Mesa, but there are also plenty of volunteers that help keep up the park as well. However, you are expected to pick up after yourself and your pet. Please bring your own doggy poop bags to clean up after your little buddy and make sure you place them in the proper trash receptacles.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
