DeWitt Clinton Dog Park is in the Clinton area of Manhattan and has often been called Hell’s Kitchen. The park got that name back in the 1800s when it was considered the bad side of town. Today it is an upscale neighborhood with plenty to see and do. In fact, tourists love this area for shopping and restaurants. DeWitt Clinton Dog Park is one of the more popular dog parks in the Hell's Kitchen area.
DeWitt Dog Park is just the spot if you need to let your dog run. This Hell’s Kitchen off-leash dog park is a happening place in the hot summer months. There is plenty of shade, drinking water, benches, and even kiddie pools for your dog to cool off in. There is also a hose available to cool off your dog or fill a water bowl. This entire dog park is fully fenced in with a separate small dog area. There is no dirt or grass in this park. In fact, it has an asphalt floor with some trees to keep it shaded and not so hot in those summer months.
The city laws and ordinances apply to all dog parks whether they are leashed or unleashed parks. Please remember to clean up after yourself and your dog. Bring bags to clean up after your dog. In addition, your dog should be licensed, vaccinated (including a rabies shot), and be wearing his tags when visiting any park in the city.
As far as off-leash parks in the city go, DeWitt Clinton Dog Park is a pretty large park with a good dog run for your dog to play and socialize. It is hard to find good areas for your dog within a large city, however, Hell’s Kitchen area has the prime locations. It is definitely worth a visit to this park if you are in the area.
