When your best fur buddy needs some outdoor, off-leash time and you're in Union City, you just have to stop by the Drigon Dog Park. This dog park is so doggone pawsome, it's even been featured on the TV several times.
The Drigon Dog Park has all the luxurious and woofderful amenities that any pup or their pet parent could possibly wish for, and is fenced all around for maximum security with a separate zone for small breeds and nervous dogs. The off-leash areas feature luscious grass from one end to the other. There's an abundance of agility equipment, from hurdles supported by dog silhouettes to jump over, to hoops to leap through and tunnels to hide in. There's no shortage of dog-friendly water fountains, or fire hydrants for social scenting either.
Pet parents and pups can get out of the sun under the shady pavilion called Pooch Plaza, or walk around the bone-shaped pathway which runs through the large breed section. No, before you ask, those pawprints in the concrete weren't made by a pooch on the loose, the park designers put them there. They also put lots of mutt mitt stations in both areas with trash cans. There are benches galore, so there are lots of places to sit down too.Â
Even pooch paradise has rules. Make sure you read through them before using the park. They're posted on the huge bone-shaped board at the entrance to the dog park. You can't miss it. One of the most important things is to put those mutt mitts to good use and pick up after your pup, as well as making sure they behave in an acceptable canine way.
A big paws up from Union City pups to the dog park planners, as they did a furrific job with the Drigon Dog Park! Your pup will think so too!
