Edwin K. Atwood Park

About 1.5 miles north of Andy Bowles Park, the Edwin K. Atwood Park is a pet-friendly park that allows dogs of all sizes in their property, but they have to be on a leash at all times. This park, on the Gulf of Mexico, is open seven days a week and provides guess with vehicular beach access. 

There is ample paved parking area for those who would like to drive to the park with their pooches and with 20 miles of beautiful beach driving, it is highly recommended. There is a beachside covered pavilion with picnic tables where people can mingle with each and share a meal or two. 

There is a boardwalk accessing the beach, as well as restrooms for everyone. Only dogs leashes are allowed on the beach. Spike will have a full day of fun with all the walking, wading and swimming. Not only does he get enough exercise for his day, but he also has the opportunity to socialize with other canines. 

Dog scooper bags are not available, so pet parents have to bring their own, but there are waste receptacles all throughout the place. It is a must to clean up after pets at all times to ensure the cleanliness of the premises. Dogs of all sizes have to get along well with each other because there are no separate areas for big dogs and tiny dogs. 

This means close supervision is required, so pooches do not fight and end up hurting each other. Dogs have to be on-leash and well-behaved to remain in the property. If you happen in the area and are in search of a place where you can take your four-legged best friend during the weekends, Edwin K. Atwood Park is a lovely choice. Not as extensive as other parks but good for enough for a place where Spike can exercise.
