Essig Dog Park

The Essig Dog Park is an off-leash dog park in Yucca Valley, California. The dog park is an area of the town's Essig Park which has been reserved for use by the Yucca Valley canines and is where they can go to be let loose from their leashes and have a good time. 

A pooch's leash-free entertainment starts when they're inside the dog park gates as they need to be kept on a leash while walking from the parking lot. This dog park in Yucca Valley is a half decent sized corner of Essig Park which has been fenced with chain-link to create a secure enclosure. 

Both enclosures can turn into dust bowls during the summer, and there's no shade in either the small or big dog section. If pup's needed UV protection, then they would need it here as the strength of the sun has even bleached the color from a couple of patches of astroturf that are in the off-leash runs. 

Pet parents need to be aware their pup could get easily overheated when playing here. Making sure a dog stays properly hydrated is a must. Water fountains have been installed in the dog park, and they're fit for both human and dog use. The Yucca Valley parks department request that all dogs using this dog park facility are neutered or spayed to prevent problems of aggression. 

Pet parents need to keep their pups current on their shots and parasite treatments when going to this dog park too. There is a campsite nearby, and visitors to the area who are on vacation also bring their fur babies to the park to get some exercise. 

This means pet owners need to be a little more vigilant of their dog mixing with ones they are not familiar with as problems can sometimes arise. Keeping an eye out for lazy poop scoopers from out of state is also recommended. A vacation from picking up poop just isn't on the schedule, and no user of the dog park should be taking one.
