The Fort Bragg Bark Park is located on the base at Fort Bragg. This park is not isolated to military members only, and it is open to the public. There are separate fenced areas inside this dog park for large and small canines. This is one of two dog parks located on Fort Bragg. The best way to find this dog park is to go to the Hammond Hills Community Center, and you will find the dog park there on Bogstone Drive and Lincoln Street.
The fence is a wooden frame with chicken wire attached to prevent any canines from escaping the area. It is sturdy and in decent shape. The ground here is some combination of grass and dirt, more the latter as the grounds are pretty well-trafficked, and the grass gets worn down. Your canine may leave the Fort Bragg Bark Park a bit covered in dirt, and these issues can compound after heavy rainfall.
The space available here is not massive. Games like fetch or frisbee would have to be pretty limited. There are no trees in the Fort Bragg Bark Park, and none surround the fenced area. There are also no pavilions above any section of the dog park and very limited seating. This means you are completely subjected to the will of the sun. During the afternoon hours on hot days, this might be a bit much.
There is water available inside the fenced area, but remember to bring your bowl so your canine can stay hydrated on hot days! The park is lit and stays open well into the evening. To use the Fort Bragg Bark Park, you must register your canine with the Fort Bragg Veterinary services.
Overall, the Fort Bragg Bark Park makes for a great dog park for those on base at Fort Bragg or others in the area to bring their canine to get some exercise and enjoy some socialization with other canines. Fort Bragg itself makes for a very dog-friendly place, just remember to follow the rules and regulations posted at the gate and on their website!
