Franich Dog Park

The Martin J. Franich park hosts this dog park in Watsonville, California. The Martin J. Franich park has a wide variety of activities and amenities for the visitors of this park, one such attraction being the medium sized dog park on the grounds. The dog park area is a decent size itself, totaling about an acre. 

Although the surrounding park has nicely maintained and green grass, the dog park does not. It is sand and can get quite dirty after a heavy rain. Seating inside the dog park is quite limited; there are not any benches or picnic tables placed inside the fenced area. 

There is also running water at this dog park; you do not need to bring your own bowl as there is a water fountain with a low water dispenser so your canine can access water themselves. There is no shelter here and just a few trees to line the dog park. A majority of the time you are subjected to the will of the sun, and you and your canine may get quite toasty on a hot day with little shade for a reprieve. 

The rest of the park is in close proximity to the dog park. If your canine gets anxious or likes to bark if there is a lot of hustle and bustle, then this park may not be the best fit. For those that do well around a lot of noise and people, this park is nice as you are beside everything else going on. 

Means you can let your canine exercise and socialize while your children do the same thing and all of them remain in sight at all times. Overall, this dog park makes for a great place to bring your canine to socialize and enjoy some time in the sun. This dog park is lit from some of the ambient lighting around, but as it does not have any dedicated lights itself, still closes at sunset.
