Goliad State Historical Park
This state park is home to many historical monuments such as the Spanish Colonial Era Mission of Nuestra Señora del Espíritu Santo de Zuñiga, the ruins of the 1750s Mission Rosario, and the museum of the Zaragoza birthplace. During your visit, you can schedule tours and you can visit the different historical spots as they are highly popular.
During your time here at the Goliad State Historical Park, there are many activities to take part in. You can camp, have a picnic, hike, fish, and relax anywhere throughout the grounds. There is also river access for canoes and for kayaks. If you are interested in using the river, you may want to check up on water safety.
This park is also a great place for any and all dog breeds. Dogs are allowed here at this park and you do not have to pay an additional fee. They are allowed on the grounds, but they are not allowed inside the mission, the buildings, the compound, or at the swim area.
Dogs must be watched at all times and they must also remain on a leash while at this park. The rule mandates that your dog's leash must not be longer than 6 feet. Owners must pick up after their dogs as well and all dogs must be well-behaved, licensed, tagged, and vaccinated.
