After a day on the beach, leash up your pooch and head over to Guajome Regional Park for even more fun in the sun. Located in Southern California, Guajome Regional Park is just a bone’s throw away from the Pacific Ocean. This park is just calling your pup’s name!
Your pooch will be happy to know that there are 3.5 miles
of trails that wind throughout the property. With your doggo by your side, hike
through woodlands, wetlands, chaparral, and grasslands. For something short and
sweet, hop on the nature trail that’s located in the center of the park. Keep
in mind, the trails are multi-use, so expect to encounter some
cyclists or equestrians.
Guajome Regional Park is a pupular camping destination
for pets and their people. If your
pooch is up for sleeping under the stars, bring a couple sleeping bags and settle into one of the 33 partial hookup sites. Each one has a fire ring, paved driveway, and
a table. At the end of the day, your doggo will love nothing more than to cozy up by the campfire.
If you are only stopping in for the day, it’s a good idea
to pack some lunch. There are two pawsome day use areas with picnic facilities.
The upper area features a fitness area, horseshoe pits, and a volleyball
court. The lower area includes a soccer field, basketball court, and even a
small rock climbing wall. Both sections have mature shade trees and expansive lawns. Throw down a blanket and let your pup have a well deserved nap.
Do your part to keep this lovely park smelling fresh.
Bring some clean up bags and always pick up after your canine companion. Also,
your doggo will be most appreciative if you have some cold water on
hand. All that exploring will make them thirsty! Make no mistake, a trip to
Guajome Regional Park will make your pup one happy hound!
