Hacienda Dog Park bears the distinction of being Cameron Park, California's first and only off-leash dog facility. Situated on 0.55 acres of property, Hacienda Dog Park proudly offers two fenced areas where dogs can enjoy appropriate socialization and off-leash activity. One of the two enclosures has been designed specifically to meet the needs of dogs who are elderly, small, or timid.Â
As required by most dog parks, owners must carry a leash with them and keep their dogs on a lead when not using the designated off-leash dog runs. Hacienda Dog Park is a public dog playground. Though there is no cost to enter the grounds, the park does operate on a small budget funded purely by donations. All monies are gratefully accepted and earmarked for current maintenance needs and future improvements.Â
Renovation plans include the addition of a water fountain, agility equipment, poop bag dispensers, seating, and more. At this time, there is no water access in the runs. Complimentary poop bags are not yet provided though Hacienda Dog Park does intend to install some as funds permit. To ensure access to all necessary items, owners should plan to bring everything they will need from home including bottled water, a dog dish, and poop bags.
The responsibility for all pet waste cleanup falls to all owners. The volunteer staff of Hacienda Dog Park greatly appreciate all owner efforts to ensure the park remains a clean space for all to enjoy. Also situated on the property is a large grove of oak trees and a shaded walking trail.Â
This lovely El Dorado County park places no expectations on dogs enjoying their doggy play haven. However, to assist with reducing the spread of disease, it is wise for all owners to have their dogs vaccinated. A city dog license is also an excellent idea. For a great day at a new dog play haven, plan a trip to Hacienda Dog Park!Â
